Dawlish walk 20th September 2011

On my birthday, I walked through sun and spray on sand and stone. An ancient Permian desert, Langstone Rock, looms over a perfect beach. A railway, fishing, people and the rush of water at my feet.

Precious things

Objects may seem trivial or irrelevant to us. Our jaded eyes as and experiences distract us from simple beauty and the worth of a small found object.

Lucy, my daughter loved this object. It shines in the light. Its pure gold!

Sunflowers

Last Saturday, I looked out into the garden and saw sunflower heads against a blue sky. The yellow leaves were turning slighty and the green leaves edging towards brown.

Beauty and energy turning, with time, to fading glory.

Last weeks experiences

Last week, I was drawn to memories and reflecting. A close encounter made me revisit my feelings about a loss and the realisation that I was still close to that loss became my focus.

My photography allows me to view the world around me from a safe place. I can look with eyes that are constantly exploring and discovering.

My photography

Our eyes can be opened, through experience and revelation. Our minds engage with our eyes and we can construct something that reaches out from within ourselves to the viewer.

Introducing my photographs
